My Nana taught me to love trying to garden when I was 3 or 4 and we had a parsley patch. The Concord grape arbor in our fruit-filled yard was my "school house" as a child, and the juice of the leaves was my "chalk" on slates found there. I still make quince marmalade like my Nana from years before me.
